Australovenator ( meaning “Southern Hunter”) ┬áis a species of allosauroid from Mid-Cretaceous Australia. It was described and named by Scott Hocknull in 2009. The only specimen found so far was nick-named ‘Banjo”.

It would have hunted other Mid-Cretaceous Australian dinosaurs like Timimus and Atlascoposaurus. It was about 1 ton in weight. It was about 20 feet long. Many bones have been found.
